Case implementation
- Determine the type, quantity, weight, size and special transportation requirements of the goods. Plan transit times and routes.
- Collect available vessel information from different shipowners and shipbrokers to compare vessel specifications, ages, technical condition and charter prices.
- Negotiate with the shipowner or broker on terms such as hire, lease term, port of loading, laytime, demurrage and expedited charges.
- Clarify the rights and obligations of both parties, such as the seaworthiness of the ship, the responsibility for the custody of the cargo, etc.
- Drafting and reviewing charterparties to ensure that the terms of the contract are in line with the negotiation outcomes and legal requirements of both parties.
- Loading preparation: The charterer maintains communication with the shipowner to understand the dynamics of the vessel and the estimated time of arrival. The charterer arranges the transportation of the goods to the loading port, and does a good job in the customs declaration and inspection of the goods.
- Loading operation: Loading is carried out in accordance with the loading and unloading time and method agreed in the contract. Ensure the loading safety and reasonable stowage of goods.
